• Sliding elements / preparation for watering: Easy emptying via sliding elements, opening for watering hose at the side elements (size: 17 x 17 mm, except size 2×2).

• Raised vegetable bed intermediate floor: The intermediate floor reduces the volume of the bed and the soil required for filling, thus helping you to save both money and valuable time. Simply install it at the desired height during assembly.
• Snail protection: (will only fit onto following sizes: 1×0,5; 2×0,5; 1×1, 2×1 & 2×2). This protective construction is easily installed on our raised vegetable bed.
• Cold frame attachment: (Only suitable for size 2×1). The 4 easily removable sliding panels provide efficient frost protection combined with ease of access. The cold frame extension is storm-proof and designed to direct rainwater into the raised bed.

 

Sophisticated functionality:

Rapidly assembled: Our new raised vegetable bed offers more comfort and convenience – right from the start! Thanks to its robust extruded aluminium corner elements with integrated guide rails, the assembly can be completed by just one person in less than 10 minutes. The T-profiles of the side panel edges are simply pushed into the guide rail and fixed in place with the corner cover. Only 16 screws are required in total. The illustrated assembly instructions help to simplify the whole process.

Attractive design: The hot-dipped steel plate with its complex polyamid enamel finish that is used for the side walls has a velvet touch and convinces optically with pure elegance. This makes our Biohort Raised Vegetable Bed an attractive design element for every garden.

Robust construction: Due to the special construction with hollow chamber profiles, the side walls are resistant to high forces and are thus designed for decades of continuous load. Even an intensive stress test carried out at Biohort did not lead to any relevant deformation.

Easy to empty: The comfortable fixation system also plays a vital role in the renewal of the Biohort Raised Vegetable Bed’s content: The easy-to-open side walls allow for a time and energy saving emptying of the Raised Vegetable Bed.

Accelerated growth-rate: The particular advantage of a raised vegetable bed is the warmth created in the lower layers of the filling as a result of the rotting process. This increases the soil temperature in the root area of the plants by up to 5 degrees, accelerates growth and allows an earlier harvest.

• 4. GARDEN EARTH – High-quality flower, humus or compost soil offers the best conditions for good root development and guarantees an optimal environment for rapid plant growth.
• 3. COMPOST AND LEAF MOULD – In the generously proportioned central core of compost and foliage, important nutrients and heat are generated and released into the earth.
• 2. FINELY CHOPPED BRANCHES OR GRASS – This layer prevents smaller elements in the upper layers from sifting down into the bottom of the bed.
• 1. BRANCHES OR TWIGS – The contents of the bottom layer offers sufficient ventilation from underneath which ensures an even and consistent rotting process in the layers above.
